On The Water

With the water so close – and so tempting – it’s no surprise that Puerto Pollensa offers a range of sailing and water activities on your doorstep. Here’s just a quick overview of some of the ways you could spend your time on the water. But remember to look out for the water bomber that lives in the bay!

Dinghy Sailing

The bay of Pollensa is ideal for dinghy sailing, offering a sheltered bay that has an onshore breeze in the afternoon. This can develop into a breeze that will be sporty for the more advanced sailors.

There is a company on the beach front where you can either hire or they will provide tuition.

Power

If speed is your thing, then there are several companies in the port from who you can hire faster boats. This is not something that I know much about, but I understand that to go out on your own you need to have a licence.

The alternative is that most companies, at an extra cost, will provide someone to do the driving.

Larger Boats

If you fancy an organised charter around the Bay of Pollensa that includes the usual mix of banana rides, water skiing, lunch, you should consider contacting Tudor Dawn Charters.

They provide day sailing activities and a selection of fun day cruises and can cater for everything from stag or hen parties, corporate or team building events, through to those just interested in learning how to sail.

Diving

As you would expect, plenty of opportunities here too. There are at least three companies in the Port that cater for both the beginner and more advanced divers. There is also a company that does underwater cave dives, the pleasures of which I cannot fully comprehend.
